So now Claudia's mother is sick.
This gets tricky. Alan and David are staying with Claudia's parents while Claude is stuck in the hospital with baby Jacob. But now grandma Annemarie has come down with bronchitis. Grandpa Hans can't easily deal with a sick wife and two lively kids by himself. Oh, and guests are now flying in from all over for the christening this weekend. What to do?
The not entirely satisfactory solution: Claudia is now commuting between the hospital and her home. Since the hospital is a full hour away, this is not ideal, but what can you do.
(Yes, an hour away. There is such a thing as rural Germany, and that's where Claude's family lives. Small town of 3,000 people. The nearest city of any size is... Schweinfurt. That's where my sons are born: Schweinfurt. It'll be on their passports. When they are older I will try to explain.)
I'm still in Romania. I'm busy writing a quarterly report, which is of course much more important than sick family members. I will fly up, finally, tomorrow.
And that's the news from here.
