I shouldn't, I have other things to do

fpi_girl.jpg This boggled even my mind, non-American that I am, when I first heard Cheney say that he had never met Edwards personally before the debate yesterday. It's doing nothing to increase my sympathies towards him (disclaimer: I have none.)

Oh, and: A funny thing, via the Washington Monthly. Cracked me up.

We're having a nice chat about it.

But was it a lie??? I meet people in my job all the time that I later don't remember. Just last week I introduced myself to a person in the lab and he said... "Uhhh we met, about a month ago, and worked next to each other for 2 hours in this lab... And you go to my health club, I had met you once there too about a year ago and we talked about that." With the direct prompters I vaguely remembered meeting him. If it had been 2 or mores years ago I wouldn't have. And I don't meet anywhere near the volume of people a professional politician does. And to Cheney a senator at a breakfast wouldn't really be that memorable.

So it is very possible this was an honest mistake rather than a lie.
