Fix that!

fpi_girl.jpg Some days ago, I received an email from a dear friend, with a link and the subject line: "This needs to be fixed!"

I couldn't agree more. So may I direct your all attention towards this charity. I know the people who run this place and it is a good thing. They always need money, so if you have not yet thought of a charity to give to for the holidays (I know they are months away, so what?), consider them. The government is certainly not doing anything for the street kids and orphans, so it's left to private efforts.

(They are still so grateful for the generous donation of yours, Pouncer!)

In the meantime, I'm happy to report that my little friend is doing well. He's as charming and adorable as ever, and he had a good day today. Among his loot were a big loaf of bread, a meat pastry, a bottle of water, and a banana (the latter from me - I thought he should also get some vitamins. I don't always give him bananas, though!) I so wished I could just take him home.

Buna! I just came across your blog a few days ago and have finally caught up to the present of your stay in Bucharest. Thanks very much. I lived in Bucharest for a few months in 2002 (near Piata Muncii) and fell in love with the city (after those initial couple of weeks of shock of course). I have missed it so much ever since I returned to my home here in Oregon. It's so nice that I can be there vicariously now! (As a special request, could you take us out to Herastrau Park sometime. That was my favorite place to run and walk and sit and watch.) I didn't get to venture far from Bucharest very often during my stay (1 trip to Constata and 1 up to Sighisoara & Brasov (been to Sighisoara? You must visit)) so I really enjoy your little trips to the places I wished I could have gone.
I loved your husband's visit to the art museum by the University. I visited there too but completely missed some things like the details of the stairway and the backwards/reflected clock. He is quickly shaming me into being more observant and inquisitive. Ditto the People's House experience.
Multumesc foarte multi again and keep 'em coming. (do you know how much longer you are going to be there?)
la revedere,
Chris
