Back for real, now

fpi_girl.jpg We're back for real now. Back in Bucharest, back together, back home, back online. Things have been a nightmare those past two weeks, but we've come out on the other side and we hope to see some light soon. Postings should resume their usual frequency in a day or two. (I know I said this before. That was before the nightmare.) Is anybody really still checking this site out?

In the meantime, we have driven our car down to Romania without any accidents, even though we chose to take the Transfagaras Highway. I have to say that this was a good thing to do that I will never do again. The road is breathtaking and horrifying, beautiful and utterly scary. We will definitely dedicate an entire post to this particular adventure.

But first, unpacking. Boy, did we get a lot of stuff into that car!

I'm glad you're back home safely.

I've been keeping you in my thoughts.

Since I can't think of any good, original advice, I'll quote someone who has a much better grasp of words than I'll ever have on how to get through this. "You just go on."

Keep going on. The light is there, waiting for you. You'll find it again, eventually.

And until you do, know that there are a whole bunch of people out here, caring about you.

A power surge knocked out your blog for a short time while you were still here. Had I known about it, I would have fixed it handily but it should be fine now. (not there there was any bad weather in DC to have done that)

Hope all is well and we will contiune the search for the "lost firemen" :-)

Of course we still check this site, and we still care! I wish I was there...I actually enjoy rearranging books on shelves.

Keep me in your thoughts too, though...I finally go home next week after seven months out here, and traveling out is always the most dangerous stage...plus I have just so much to DO between now and then.
