Unseasonably warm today. If it were the end of February, I'd be delighted; but since it's the first half of January, I know better. This is just an intermission, and we still have at least six more weeks of winter.
Anyhow, point is, it was all slush today.
You commentors who pointed out how much fun snow was, how invigorating and fun: you come to Eastern Europe and slog through several inches of cold, dirty water to the office and back. With drizzle falling all around, the drains plugging up, and a month's worth of dog droppings and cigarette butts bobbing in the mix.
If you've been reading this far, you know that we like Bucharest. It's just that the city wasn't showing its most lovely face today.
Hey, I don't like dog droppings and cigarette butts in *any* weather.
And walking through inches of drain-free water in cities is no picnic, even when it's caused by geophysically relentless hot tropical sopping pouring interminable amok time fungiferous rain. At least with cold water, you don't have to worry about parasites swimming through your socks.

Of course, I am in a North American city that is quite clean and do not have two toddlers. This is also the second genuinely snowy winter I've experienced in my entire life, so the sheen of the whole thing hasn't quite worn off yet.
