Argus

Summary: Fidonet mailer for dial-up and TCP/IP
License: Shareware

Email: argus@ritlabs.com
Homepage: http://www.ritlabs.com/argus/
Download: argus194.zip (Nov 21 1999, 794.8K)
Description:
Argus v3.194 is a comprehensive FTN Mailer designed to work as a
multi-line system using two widely used data exchange transports -
Dial-up networking and TCP/IP - simultaneously.

The major advantage, multitasking, gives Argus the possibility to use
system resources with maximum performance (especially on multi-processor
systems), because most of the communication processes can be divided
into parallel ones. At the same time, using separate threads for events
handling, communication data reading and writing allows Argus to work
with a minimum system load, so all other tasks running in a system can
function without any delays.

Because Argus is a true multi-line mailing system, configuration and
co-ordination of all lines is truly quick and easy. There are no
special limitations to number of concurrent connections - it just
depends on a users' possibilities and requirements. The data transfer
with a node can be established either via Dial-up or TCP/IP transport
- this is determined by transport availability. Dial-up lines can be
started automatically at Argus start-up or manually by a user's request
with System / Open Dial-up Line menu command. Each dial-up line
requires a communication port, so the number of dial-up lines being
active simultaneously is limited by the number of communication ports in
a system. TCP/IP lines are created and disposed as a result of TCP/IP
Daemon functioning. As soon as Argus detects an incoming TCP/IP
connection or a new poll via TCP/IP in the Poll Manager, Daemon creates
a new mailing system line and starts a mail transfer protocol. When a
TCP/IP session finishes, Daemon closes the line and ends the connection.

public are on your network. Users simply access the file via explorer
and import the settings into their PC by simply dbl-clicking. This

up networking connections existing on your computer.

PC Remote is an intuitive, multi-faceted program that lets you access
another computer from a remote location. Designed to be flexible and
inexpensive, PC Remote lets you access another computer across a
network, on the Internet, on the computer serial ports, or through a
modem connection. Now you have multiple ways to access the data you
need. PC Remote is the low cost solution for accessing remote
computers.

Exactly who has access to the host (remote) computer is determined by
the user and is totally secure. You can assign others a user name,
password, and determine whether or not they can transfer files. This
makes it easy for you to allow a family member or coworker to access the
remote computer. You can clearly see everything on the other screen and
have full control of the keyboard and mouse. You can access files on
your work computer from home and quickly download them. Copy data to
the clipboard on the remote computer and it automatically appears in the
clipboard on your computer. PC Remote also lets you create macros that
you can execute across the connection to get results on the other side.
And, if you should need more resources to do another task, you can pause
the flow of data between computers and resume it when you're ready.

On a LAN, PC Remote can scan to see what computers on the network are
running the host mode and are available. For a modem connection, PC
Remote automatically detects your modem and what COM port it's using.
You can also link two computers via their serial ports and use PC Remote
to transfer files back and forth.

Email: support@shareisdn.de
Homepage: http://www.shareisdn.de/
Download: shari123.zip (Sep 26 2000, 886.9K)
Description:
You can use ShareISDN to share the functions of an ISDN-Card with other
users in a network. For example, every person within a company can
send faxes, transfer files or access the Internet via one single
ISDN-Card. Installing an ISDN-Card in every single computer of a
network would give the same result but of course this would be much
more expensive and requires a lot more effort (installing the cards,
laying cables, etc).

Simply install the ShareISDN Server (SISsetNT.exe for WindowsNT/2000,
SISset95.exe for Windows95/98/MI) on the computer with the ISDN-Card.
The ShareISDN Client (SICsetup.exe) is put on every computer to access
the ISDN-Card of the Server computer.

You can use every application which supports the CAPI 2.0
specification. CAPI 2.0 is the standard programming interface for
ISDN-Cards and nearly all ISDN applications support it. For example,
the widespreaded Fritz! software is compatible with ShareISDN.

The function of the ShareISDN package is also called "Remote Capi",
"Lan Capi" or "Network Capi" to show the special characteristic: the
whole Capi-Interface of the ISDN-Card is accessible from the client
computers.

ShareISDN is compatible with the Remote Access Service (RAS) so you can
make Dial-Up connections to the Internet via ShareISDN.

Description:
Skimpy allows you to watch the phone costs caused by your online
connections and keep your connection alive. Some ISPs automatically
disconnect you from their server if there is no online activity for a
certain period (e.g. you read some large text or something like that).
If you check this check box Skimpy will "keep alive" your current
connection by "refreshing" it every 59 seconds. It appears as an icon
next to the system clock in the taskbar. As soon as you establish a
connection, the program starts calculating your fees, using the tariffs
you defined.

You can retrieve the costs of the current connection by keeping the
mouse pointer over the tray icon for a few seconds. You can open the
program's window by double clicking on program icon in tray or select
Show Program in menu which is shown when you right-click on icon. In
program's caption you will see sum of costs and online time from last
log reset. Skimpy writes a detailed log of all your connections.

reading an email, reading a web page, grabbing a soda, etc. your ISP
will disconnect you for inactivity. Other ISPs will monitor that you
are using a ping program to keep your connection alive (maybe you are
just downloading a big file) and they will disconnect you. Don't let
this happen to you. Stay Alive is a totally automated and easy to use

Summary: VB voice programmable tool for Dialogic boards
License: Shareware
Author: Bob Johnson, Call Engineering
Email: BobJohnson@neo.rr.com
Download: svrpv202.zip (Nov 22 1999, 1.4M)
Description:
Visual Basic Programmable Voice Telephony Software Tool For Dialogic
Boards is a synchronized voice server which allows Visual Basic and\or
any database or application language which supports the Microsoft DDEML
to drive Dialogic professional voice boards. The client application
sends function commands as an ASCII string via the Dynamic Data Exchange
medium of Microsoft Windows DDEML to the SVSERVER application which
receives the commands and executes them via an interface to the Dialogic
Multithread Function Library. When the function completes, the SVSERVER
returns the Dialogic function status and any data to the client
application.

The design of SVSERVER permits multiple client applications having
different channel assignments to interact with the voice server
simultaneously. For instance, one application may be running voice mail
on channels 1 to 4 while some other automated telephony application runs
using channels 5 to 8. NEW SVSERVER now supports SCBus, T1, and E&M
digital lines, SpeechWorks speech recognition, and Dialogic's
Text-To-Speech API. This download supplies two sample Visual Basic 6.0
client programs with executables that access the voice server software.
In addition, documentation is provided to enhance your understanding of
the voice client server interaction and operation in developing voice
telephony applications using the SVSERVER.

This is a multifunction substitution of the standard Dialer on Windows
95/98/NT. The program can be applied by several users, each of them
having his own name and access password for the Internet, and for any
amount of connections. Each user can run his own statistics of time
spent on the Internet and, if necessary, of his money expenditures
according to any tariff rate for every day of the week. The program
has several service functions, including:

Network functions: Daytime, Finger, Ping, automatic check-up of three
POP3 mailboxes.

Other functions are: triggering of exterior programs, flexible
customization of the interface, inspection of safety of the encrypted
passwords, timers, acoustic effects, built-in telephone with a quick
dialing-set for 10 numbers, launching capability from a diskette (with
conservation of data on it) and many others.

The program is destined both for inexperienced users and for network
professionals. This program is not critical towards customizations and
at the first launch it transforms automatically all former settings of
the system. The user only has to enter data for access into the
Internet. Background implementation is also possible; that is, the
user does not see the program and administers it with the help of "hot"
keys or mouse cursor on the Taskbar.
