IconForge makes it simple to create and modify icons, multi-resolution icons, cursors and animated icons/cursors for your Windows desktop, as well as for other graphic projects, such as producing tiles for wallpaper backgrounds or small pictures for web pages. Enhanced painting tools include text, smudge, spatter, multi-level zoom, special effects filters, etc. Paint in resolutions from 2 to 16-million colors, and with transparent and inverse "colors" to allow the background to show through portions of your icons and cursors. Extract icons from EXE, DLL ICO, ANI ICL, or CUR format files, and from common image files. You can even do a screen capture to grab an icon or image. Edits standard and custom sizes from 8x8 to 72x72. Clip regions from imported images, or scale them to fit the standard icon/cursor sizes. Save in icon/cursor formats, store in Library files, or export to image formats such as BMP, JPG, GIF, or TIFF. Automatically produces common animation effects such as Dissolves and Fades. And since IconForge displays several editing sessions at the same time, it's a snap to cut and paste material between cursors, icons and animations. |

The IconViewer is a tool for viewing icons. The main window looks a lot like the standard Windows "Open" dialog box except it has a menu bar and no text box to type the directory or file in. The user can click once on an icon filename to preview it in a box (if "Show Preview" is checked) and double-click to bring up the Viewer. The Viewer is a very, very tiny window which only has room for one icon because that's all it shows. When the user is done viewing the desired icon he/she can just double-click on the system menu to close the Viewer. |
