(Advanced) DOS SEEK offers an additional search function for both - users of DOS/Windows 3.x and Windows 95 (NT should be ok, too, but was not tested). There are two executables in this third release: "seek95.exe" was especially created for Windows 95 users while "seek.exe" is for DOS 6.x/ Windows 3.x users (but will also work in Win 95). The parameter DOS SEEK is used with is the search string. It will search the current directory including all subdirectories and show all files and folders containing or consisting of the string in alphabetical order with complete path. It also shows hidden and system files. |

| Description: |
- Long filename support has been implemented. - new switch /Dos to force ACD to use, short filenames. When you have a DOS version below 7.0, ACD will by default put the /Dos on, otherwise it will be put off. Also a switch /Win95 will force ACD to use the Win95 long filename method. - ACD can be configured to store directory-names case-sensitive. However, this will only affect the presentation. - ACD can be forced to use ACD.IDX information, even if a direct change would work, by setting "Change directly if path exists?" to "OFF". - You can tell ACD how you prefer to highlight the path when using the pop-up window, using ACD_CFG: - New keys shift/left-arrow, shift/right-arrow which will show you the left/right side of a long filename. - When a full directory name is more than about 70 characters long, then the complete long filename will be shown on the top line of the pop-up window; otherwise the old 'DOS' short filename will be shown on the top line of popup window. ACD is a program designed to have all the features I liked about LCD and NCD, and more. |

ACD II can be used to quickly change directories. It can store everything on the disk to a file, and later on you can change to every dir on the entire computer. All previous CD-ROM discs are remembered by the program. It also has a nice GUI. The program can play audio CD's as well. It supports branch size calculation and wasted space. You can remove an entire directory structure. It supports long file names with a single key-press. This program is useful for people who still like the command prompt instead of all those fancy windows and mouse pointers. |

Other features include a toggle operator and the ability to copy attributes from a 'template' file. Error checking is also improved over the Microsoft utility. Recent changes improve compatibility with FreeDOS and with 8086/8088 systems. A86 source included. |

Coig Change Directory 0.77alpha (CCD) is a DOS directory navigator. CCD is a Norton Change Directory clone (NCD). CCD scans the directory tree of your hard drives, and shows it on the screen. You can then change the current directory simply moving through the directory tree using the cursor keys, so you don't have to bother using the CD command within complex directory structures. CCD allows you to create, rename, delete, or move directories easily, too. It generates drive-usage graphics. CCD manages file and directory descriptions. You can execute a program by just going to its directory and pressing a key. Directory trees are saved on the disk, so they don't have to be rescaned each time you use it. CD-ROM trees can be saved on the hard disk, and are recognized automatically. |

| Description: |
CDQ v3.10 is a quick little utility that is designed to make the simple task of changing MS-DOS directories & Win95 long directories even simpler. This utility works the same as the MS-DOS CD command, except for the following conditions: (a) if an incomplete directory name is given, CDQ will attempt to locate the directory closest to that which you have typed. (b) it will attempt to match partial directory names. (c) repetitive calls to CDQ with the same partial directory name will result in the match of the next directory in the directory tree. For example, want to change to the Windows directory, type "CDQ WIN" from any directory, and you're there. If there are other directories with the same first 3 letters, repeat the command to jump between them. Also typing CDQ "my do" you can quickly find directories such as "My Downloads" and "My Documents." Long filenames are fully supported. |

DeleteAll (DA) v3.10 is a fast DOS-based file and directory maintenance utility that's loaded with features. DA allows you to delete all types of programs, files and directories based upon an almost limitless set of criteria. Files can be chosen - or excluded - by their date, time, size, attributes or even by character patterns contained in their names. Security options include the ability to "wipe out" a file (make its size 0 bytes) and then delete it. You can also choose to have files deleted only after you've confirmed it first. DA even incorporates two special options that allow you to test out your more intricate command lines before they're run, as well as a "grouping" operator which allows you to build complex file name pairings with relatively few keystrokes. Works across network drives too. |

dfjb195.zip (Dec 24 1996, 107.4K) |
| Description: |
DF (Directory Find) is a DOS utility that helps you find files on your drives in an extraordinary number of ways beyond DOS' DIR command. DF identifies file parameters without the "*" wild card, eliminating all but one shifted character; it will list as many as four different file parameters on one command; it will list files by size and with embedded strings and within an alphabetical range; it'll show you which files you changed or created today or within the last x number of days; it will list only new files of a certain type. The registered version will filter out specified file parameters. Files listed are color coded for easy identification by type. Files are listed in two columns to put as much information on the screen at one time as possible. DF has other capabilities, such as disk space and usage for up to 5 drives on one report; it will list your subdirectories and show you the space used in each. The registered version will aid your housecleaning by showing you all files on all directories of your hard drive that have been changed on the current day. Because there are other programs with the same name, we distinguish it as the Jules Brenner DF. Hence, the archive is dfjb195. Installation: EXE files should be copied to a subdirectory that is in the Path. Commonly and ideally, it would go to \UTIL (or equivalent). |

You certainly have heard the brouhaha about all the world's computers going into some sort of computer shock in the year 2000. Because, it is alleged that your computer will think that the year 2000 is actually the year 00 (ie, 01-01-00). This is caused by the widespread practice of representing the year with two digits. The format MM-DD-YY has been implemented in computer programs around the world. Directory-2000+ solves this problem by being able to detect files dated from 1980 to 2079, using MS-DOS's precise date format of MM-DD-YEAR. It's a 2000+ version of MS-DOS's Dir command. |

DirDate allows you to change the date and time on directories, volume labels and files. It accepts wild cards and recursing into subdirectories. It skips Windows 95 LFNs to avoid clobbering them. Each part of the date and time can be set individually to the current value or a given value. The date and time can also be taken from a reference file and then further modified. Preview mode to verify result before committing changes. Output can be redirected to a file or printer. |
