Cheez Wave Simulator

Summary: Wave physics sim. Free
License: Freeware
Author: Aaron Sokoloski
Email: socko4@netzero.net
Download: cwave1_0.zip (May 14 2000, 261.8K)
Description:
Cheez Wave Simulator is a graphical dos-based program that copies the
behavior of an elastic string. One end of the string is tethered to the
side of the screen and the other follows the movement of the mouse.
Sections of the string change color according to their velocities, and
blocks between sections make it easy to see the movement of longitudinal
waves. The user can modify the mass of the sections of the string (it
is really just several straight sections) and the number of segments.
The mass can be specified for the two halves of the string separately,
to demonstrate what happens when a wave passes into a more or less dense
medium.

Download: con4v20.zip (Oct 25 1998, 35.3K)
Description:
Connect Four v2.0 is a very simple two player game. It's based on the
classic table game Connect Four. The rules of Connect Four v2.0 are the
same as in the classic game. If you like the classic table game Connect
Four you will love this game.

Summary: FMS simulation system
License: Shareware
Author: Dr. Bojan R. Babic, Mechanical Engineering, Univer
Email: babib@cent.mas.bg.ac.yu
Download: flexy30b.zip (Jun 21 1998, 533.9K)
Description:
Flexy system could be used for the simulation and animation of
manufacturing systems, particularly flexible manufacturing systems.
It has a graphical environment for the creation of machine symbols
and for the design of manufacturing system layouts. It is very friendly
and menu driven. Could be used for educational purposes as well as
commercial purposes.

FSSW2K

Summary: Fight Firestorms with aircraft & ground crews
License: Shareware
Author: John Daigle, Cricket Software
Email: jjcricket@juno.com
Homepage: http://www.webvenues.com/cricket/
Download: fssw2k.zip (Dec 11 1999, 630.6K)
Description:
With Firestorm you can use four ground crews and two air tankers to
fight wildland fires on a map of 180,000 acres, containing forests,
meadows, roads, rivers, lakes, seashore, and buildings. One to five
fires can be started at random or selected locations. The fires are
affected by wind conditions and fuel type. Wind direction and speed can
change randomly or can be changed manually. Wind speed can vary from one
to 60 knots. Dispatch the crews to the fire via roads or overland and
cut firelines. Dispatch the air tankers to the drop zones and dump
retardant on the fire. Spot fires will form ahead of the fire in high
wind and heavy fuel conditions. A status bar at the top of the map
keeps track of acres on fire, acres burned, structures destroyed and
simulation time.

The registered version of this program, "Firestorm Pro" is used by over
200 firefighting agencies to train wildland fire fighters. The
registered version also includes four different maps, a helitack
(helicopter) to do water drops, the ability to record and play back
simulations, set backfires and other features. The files also contain
demo versions of Firestorm Pro, Map Designer (to create your own
Firestorm maps) and Wildfire (an urban/wildland interface fire
simulation with eight urban/wildland interface maps). Firestorm 2000 is
an upgrade of Firestorm with improved graphics and sound.DOS program,
but will run under Windows 3.1, 95 or 98, icon included.

SWARM2A

Summary: Emergent motion vectors, pop 200, src DJGPP
Download: swarm2a.zip (Jun 12 2000, 154K)
Description:
In this model, preset to 200 individuals, I've attempted to give, in
addition to a local awareness a global awareness to each particle.
This is done by allowing the processor to randomly select a target
particle from the array for comparison. This in addition to
optimizating the particles distance to it's nearest neighbor creates
within the system, an emergent motion vector, which is stongly
influenced by the systems spatial configuration. These emergent
vectors came as quite a surprise and have lead to some speculation
regarding mob behavior.

This program is free, and comes with no restrictions. It is intended
to foster Artificial life research.
