Description:
AMSTNS 3.2 allows searching of the FCC's AM broadcast station database
downloaded to your PC. It will run under Windows 3.x and 95 as well as
DOS. Search can be by city, frequency, or call letters. Technical
details of each station, construction permit, or application are
displayed including directional antenna patterns. Each city search
displays stations within a chosen radius of the stations licensed to the
chosen city. Each search results in a file that allows the transmitter
locations to be displayed on DeLorme Street Atlas (r) 3, 4, or 5 maps.
These maps can be printed. One converted FCC database is included, as
well as software to convert from the FCC format. The FCC updates its
downloadable broadcast databases after each workday.

Download: btl151.zip (Dec 7 1997, 64.7K)
Description:
Blaster Teletype (BTL) v1.51 is a combined RTTY modem and terminal package using a SoundBlaster compatible sound card on a PC for audio connections to a radio receiver or transceiver. No external interface is required between the PC soundcard and the radio transceiver, however RF filters and an audio attenuator (resistors or an audio transformer) are recommended for transmit operation. BTL uses modern DSP techniques to give outstanding performance and flexibility, measurably surpassing the sensitivity and interference rejection abilities of most hardware analogue RTTY modems. BTL is designed to be easy to use, with on-line help, and has many features, including tuning and input level indicators; widely adjustable RTTY parameters, such as tone frequencies, baud rate, input filters, tone reversal, etc.; a selection of Baudot alphabets, including US, ITU2, and Extended Baudot (with lower case and all full ASCII punctuation characters); transmit buffers; text capture; word editing during TX; adjustable SoundBlaster input and output levels, with input selection; and much more. BTL 1.51 uses the transmitters VOX to key the transmitter.

Description:
MORSE CODE PRACTICE will help you increase your code reading speed by using a proven method. The program sends each letter at a code speed of 13 words per minute. The space between each letter and word group is changed each minute. The program starts at a rate equal to 5 WPM, then increases the speed by reducing the space until a true 13 words per minute code speed is reached. This method will help the average student build their speed to 13 WPM faster than using code tapes or records that send code at a continuous 13WPM. Registered version covers letters, numbers, and punctuation, at code speed up to 25 WPM.

Description:
Fsend is a program written to help you learn the International Morse
code, or to help you increase your receiving or as us Ham Radio
operators say "copying" speed in the International Morse code.

Fsend has several modes it can operate in. It has a keyboard mode,
which echos each letter number or punctuation mark you type on the
keyboard in Morse code. If you press a key on the keyboard for which
there is no equivalent in Morse code nothing will happen.

I wrote the program origionally to help keep my code speed up. Fsend
can also send standard ascii text files. It takes into account the fact
that there may be extra spaces, carriage returns or line feed characters
and makes sure that only one word space is generated regardless of the
number of extra spaces in the file.

- Store mem - Copies channels from an ASCII data file to radio memory.
- Go - String search, go to station stored in radio memory.
- Scan A-B Special --\
- Scan Freq Special ---Specialized scan functions that do not alter
- Scan List Special --/ radio memory.
- Channel Data- Single screen input of channel data to radio memory.
- Set Time - Simplifies setting of PC/radio local and UTC time.
- Schedule - For scheduling listening or unattended taping.
- Spectrum - x-y plot of signal strength vs. frequency, with ability to
slew across the display, across all or any portion of radio coverage.

The program is fully functional with complete documentation.

Grayline

Homepage: http://www.iri.tudelft.nl/~geurink/grayline.htm
Download: grayln12.zip (May 14 2000, 39.1K)
Description:
Grayline v1.2 helps radio amateurs and shortwave listeners to benefit
from so called 'grayline propagation'. The grayline is a virtual line
which divides the earth in the day and the night side. When one radio
station is in the dusk and the opposite station is in the dawn, there
is a possibility for so called 'grayline propagation'. At sunrise the
D-layer builds up slowly and at sunset it disappears slowly again.
During this change, low frequencies are not absorbed but refracted by
the D-layer and they will enter the F-layer with a much lower wave
angle than normal. In this way longer distances can be used for
propagation on the lower HF bands. Grayline propagation occurs in
general from about 1.8 to 10 MHz and the propagation paths will be in
the dark. Grayline v1.2 calculates possible grayline propagation paths
for your location to other DXCC countries for any given date.

Novice code users start with just A and B and add more as they learn. Those who already know code but want to improve their speed can start with the full set of characters covered on the amateur radio code tests. The program includes five modes for learning code:
- 1) Sends 100 random characters and you copy them to paper.
- 2) Sends characters, you type each one as you hear it. A character is
eliminated after you correctly respond three times, leaving the
ones on which you need more work.
- 3) You enter characters and the computer responds with their sound.
- 4) Sends random words and you copy them to paper.
- 5) Computer sends a text file of your choice and you copy it to paper.

Description:
Mouse to Morse TNC is a special terminal package for MSDOS computers that allows a blind or deaf blind ham to operate amateur packet radio. Due to the nature of packet radio, data throughput is quite slow. This allows a user to read the incoming data with a Morse code interface. M2MTNC is an implementation of this concept. It runs on any MSDOS platform and requires only a Microsoft compatible mouse. It can be configured to run on any serial port with any TAPR style packet TNC such as a Kantronics KPC3, MFJ 1270, or an AEA PK232. M2MTNC currently has many users and is a very practical means for handicapped persons to access the world of VHF packet radio. Registered version has many additional features and more detailed documentation.
