Smart House is an intriguing adventure game and super-quiz. The "house" has 100 rooms, and in each one you encounter a tough question, a difficult puzzle, or a vexing riddle. Venture through three corridors to the "prize room." A DOS multimedia experience using your PC's internal speaker. Smart House requires you to identify famous painters and musicians from obscure examples of their work. It also requires you to identify wildlife, examine a recipe critically, recognize flags and street-car routes, decipher maps, interpret literary references, provide answers about chemistry and physics, recognize quotations, etc. You must be able to retrace your steps because Smart House deliberately and steadfastly refuses to keep your place for you.
