The Weather Tracking Program is a long term class project which can be used in conjunction with any science lessons covering the topic of weather. This program will allow students to enter daily weather data including: High Temperature, Low Temperature, Humidity, Wind Speed, Wind Direction, Barometric Pressure, Rainfall, Snowfall, Mixed Precipitation. The program will compile the data over time and present it on a summary screen which shows all of the averages for these, the high entries, and the low entries. You can average the data for all dates, one date, or a range of dates that you select. The Shareware program is limited in that it will track only 5 days worth of date (the registered version will track 200 - more than a full, standard school year.) Students can view the raw data as entered by them in a table format. This allows them to practice their graphing skills by charting the data. They can use the data to explore the relationships between temperature and humidity, temperature and air pressure, humidity and air pressure, etc. This program is ideal for classrooms which have an LC projector or TV interface attached to a computer. This allows for whole class presentations. |
