The program allows the user to edit 4 seperate sprite images (up to a maximum size of 126 * 126) at any given time. It is possible to import a saved palette into the editor thereby allow ing all program images to utilize one vga palette. Images may be clipped from pcx graphic files or loaded into the editor. Canvas saves images in a simple .sdf (sprite data file) format, images are also saved as a compiled sprite for pasting directly into program source code. This is useful for individuals who have written there own bltblt() or putimage(). Canvas incorporates a simple menu driven interface, making it easy to use.

Cga2Bmp v1.0 is a Freeware .BMP graphics file creation utility program
that converts "Old Style" four color graphics files to Windows .BMP
files. It will convert CGA 4-color screen files of either a BASIC
BSAVED IMAGE (.BAS) File or a ZSOFT CGA .PCX File to a 320 x 200 x 16
color Windows .BMP File, suitable for use with version 2.1 and greater
of the WorkBook program, as well as many other programs that accept .BMP
files. It is one of a collection of Freeware utilities to customize and
manage graphics used by the author's educational software.

Even if you don't use the author's programs, but are interested in
computer graphics from the technical side, this utility and its related
files should prove useful and informative. Cga2Bmp provides advanced
color change capabilities to independently change each of the 4 CGA
colors in the source image to a color from a standard 16 color VGA
palette in the target .BMP image. This utility is visual, and allows
you to see your changes before either saving or abandoning. The Cga2Bmp
package comes with several practice palettes and a number of images that
you can use to try-out the program features. Cga2Bmp is distributed
with open C language source code and good documentation.

undergraduate students, with an interest in computer graphics. This
program has no online help, but the required help is mentioned in
README.TXT in the ZIP file. Since this is an educational program, the
users are expected to include additional features in the program. I
have included features such as rotation about X, Y and Z axes, rotation
of the viewer around the cube, changing the position of the light
source. Also, this program has a crude GUI that I have developed using
my classes. This will help you understand rendering, object oriented
programming & development of GUI.

as you run the program - no complex setup necessary. Images can be
generated in full color, with a choice of resolutions and depths. Using
just a few simple keystrokes you can select an area of interest, zoom in
and out, move around, and alter your magnification settings. Once
you're happy with your image, another keystroke saves it to disk as many
times as you like. Full instructions are included. Source code also

This package contains the source code (in ANSI C) of our public beta release, as well as of several test programs that can be compiled and run under DOS, OS/2, Linux, Amiga and other Unixes. Unlike other similar libraries, the quality of the rendered glyphs matches these of Windows and the Macintosh, even at very small point sizes. Provides support for TrueType collections, kerning, font-smoothing (a-la-Win95), extensions and much more.
This package is distributed under the LGPL, though the final release will come under both a LGPL and a BSD-like license.

Graph Data Grabber (GDG) is utility for creating computer-processable data file from scanned graph image (non-interlaced GIF). It is useful there, where exists many graphical outputs in form of a graph-on-paper (i.e, from line recorder). These graphs represents a data sets, which could be processed on computer. GDG allows select points of graph curve and translate them to defined x,y coordinates. Coordinates are saved to comma delimited text data file which can be imported to a data processing software (ie. spreadsheet, tested with MS Excel).

Description:
The Stereoscopic Editor (edg.exe) is a program that lets you design the
three-dimensional objects consisting of the vertices, edges and polygonal
faces composed of the colored triangles. You need the red-blue or
red-green glasses to use the editor. Due to the stereoscopic effect
you have the impression that you are working directly in the three-
dimensional space. (Note that the default option is the red glass for
the right eye and the blue or green glass for the left eye, but you can
swap the colors. It may take some time before you start seeing the
stereoscopic image but it is much easier than the popular stereo-grams).

The Graph Viewer (vg.exe) is a program that lets you view and prepare
animated presentations of the objects designed with the Stereoscopic
Editor.

Both programs can export the current perspective to the Postscript format
and the mesh of triangles to the Povray format. Designers can use both
these programs for the ad hoc preparation of the simple 3D models and
their presentations.

Email: bbuckels@escape.ca
Homepage: http://www.escape.ca/~bbuckels/kidstuff/

Description:
iConDraw is a simple Graphics Editor Program for "Old PrintShop",
"Old PrintMaster", and "New PrintShop" ClipArt Graphics Libraries.
iCondraw's "Mouse-Based Bit-Map Editor" is straight-forward to use since
there are only two drawing commands, "White Pixel" (Right Button) and
"Black Pixel" (Left Button). No need to get lost in endless menus to
edit existing pictures or create new pictures.

iConDraw will also "export" (save) the Clipart images stored in these
libraries to a variety of formats, allowing these "Image Fragments" to
be used later by other programs. This can be particularily useful to
programmers and other creative people who want to "spruce-up" their work
by using a small image in a simple format.

Several additional utility programs, and programming examples are
bundled with iConDraw as well, combining updated versions of two
previous packages of "Old PrintShop" utilities by The Author; "The
PrintShop Utilities Toolkit" (Released in 1991), and "The ShopSave
Graphics Plaything" (Released in 1992). Even though iConDraw is an
older DOS program, it is a complimentary companion program to the
ClipShop Windows program (by the same Author).

JPEG6B

Summary: Faster version of jpeg6b for 386 or better
License: Freeware
Author: Tom Lane, Independent JPEG Group
Email: jpeg-info@uunet.uu.net
Download:
jpeg6b32.zip (Apr 1 1998, 198.5K)
Description:
These files are source code and DOS executables for release 6b of the Independent JPEG Group's free JPEG image compression code. The IJG code includes a reusable JPEG compression/decompression library, plus sample applications "cjpeg" and "djpeg", which perform conversion between JPEG JFIF format and image files in PPM/PGM (PBMPLUS), BMP, and Targa formats. A third application "jpegtran" provides lossless transcoding between different JPEG formats. Two small applications "wrjpgcom" and "rdjpgcom" insert and extract textual comments in JFIF files.
The primary user-visible improvement in this new release is that the "jpegtran" sample program is now able to perform lossless rotation and flipping of JPEG images. Although there are some restrictions on the dimensions of images that can be transformed cleanly, this facility may be of considerable use to digital camera users.
To avoid the Unisys LZW patent, djpeg's GIF output capability has been changed to produce "uncompressed GIFs", and cjpeg's GIF input capability has been removed altogether. We're not happy about it either, but there seems to be no good alternative if the code is to be freely distributed.
Jpeg6b is a "vanilla" version for any DOS machine. Jpeg6b32 is a faster 32-bit version; it will run only on 386 or better CPUs with at least 1Mb extended or expanded memory. C source code is provided in Jpegsr6b.
jpegsr6b.zip, jpeg6b.zip and jpeg6b32.zip have replaced jpegsr6a.zip, jpeg6a.zip and jpeg6a32.zip.
