chmspecs.zip (Mar 2 1997, 65.6K) |
| Description: |
chmspecs.zip is a DOS program used for computing the speciation of major ions in seawater. This speciation governs the chemical behavior of other trace elements, such as iron or mercury. The freely available concentrations of trace elements indicates the level of toxicity, and pollution. The information may be useful for the water chemists, environmental scientists and social planners. The program contains an easy-to-use menu and option to save the default concentrations and formation constants. |

mwt2_87.zip (Jan 2 1997, 85.3K) |
| Description: |
Molecular Weight Calculator v2.87 will calculate the molecular weight and percent composition of up to seven compounds simultaneously. It can recognize up to 150 user-defined abbreviations and all isotopes. The program can handle embeded parentheses, multiple hydrates, and has the unique ability to weight certain parts of a compound. An advanced feature of the program is its ability to solve for 'x' in a compound based on user-specifed percent composition data, for example C6H6-[xH2O]. Other features include display of the current time, standard deviations of results, automatic case conversion, optional recognition of the amino acids, a built-in calculator, and eleven screens of on-line help. The program includes extensive error checking to verify that formulas entered are valid, and optionally displays caution statements for formulas with unusual element combinations. Lastly, all features can be set at the command line when running the program. This program is DOS-based, yet fully Windows compatible. |
