Easy Fonts is a utility for Borland programmers: it converts any
graphic font (TrueType too) to the CHR format used by the Borland
Graphic Interface (BGI). How is it possible? Does Easy Fonts know

solution: the input required by Easy Fonts is not the original font
file but a bitmap image showing all the characters in the font. The
conversion is semi-automatic and requires few minutes.

FORCE

Version: 4.0
Summary: ForceProgram Development Suite
License: Shareware
Author: ENforce Developments.
Download: force400.zip (Oct 19 1998, 1.5M)
Description:
Force 4.0 is a complete development environment for the Force programming
language. Force is designed to combine the advantages of well-known
languages, like xBase and C. Force has a high-level syntax similar to
xBase, and offers built-in database services according to the xBase
standards. Unlike xBase, however, Force generates native code that is
small and fast like C programs. In addition, the Force language has low
level constructs (pointers, structures, etc.) and library services that
appoint it to be a uniquely wide spectrum development tool, useful for
writing virtually any sort of programs, from business applications to TSR
utilities.

While Force 4.0 is a standalone application development package, the code
written with it can be linked with C and Clipper applications - a feature
that makes Force an attractive supplementary tool for projects based on
other languages. By its easy-to-understand appearance, Force is also
suitable for beginner programmers as a starter language. While this
version of Force is primarily designed for the IBM PC/DOS platform, it
also allows the creation of 16-bit Windows executables and DLLs. The
Force 4.0 package includes compiler, library, linker, debugger, IDE,
utilities, extensive documentation, and sample sources.

LUTHOR

Summary: Lexical Table generator and library
License: Shareware
Email: dtaylor@ipipeline.net
Homepage: http://www.ipipeline.net/dennis_taylor/innersystem/
Download: luthe200.zip (May 2 1997, 502.4K)
Description:
LUTHOR is a lexical analyzer and table generator, and an accompanying runtime library. The generator can create tables in either '.h' files or as run-time loadable tables. The runtime library can support multiple simultaneously active lex tables, and multiple independant input streams. The runtime also allows the program to change lex tables in midstream. Input to the tokenizer can be from any of four different input methods: (1) submission of a filename to the library, (2) designation of a callback function, (3) character-at-a-time submission, or (4) submission of strings.
LUTHOR is designed as a set of callable functions in order to have a minimal impact on the programmer's coding style. A simple program to take input from a file and break it into tokens can be implemented in less than a dozen lines of legible c code.
The package includes executable samples (with source) which demonstrate use of the functions.
The registered version comes with complete source code.

LX2L

License: Freeware
Author: Michael Plugge, FH Mannheim
Email: m.plugge@fh-mannheim.de
Download: lx2l_102.zip (Jul 17 1998, 115.5K)
Description:
lx2l is a general-purpose preprocessor that can be used for all kinds of
ASCII files. Macros (with or without parameters, spanning one or multi
lines, also with local conditionals), global conditionals, include files
and reading of C header files are supported. Special features are
multi-thread input files (you may put sets of files which share some or
much text/code into a single file, and extract the threads using lx2l),
character remapping (replace any character with an arbitrary (one or
multiple line) output text) Character remapping is also available for
macro parameters and macro body. lx2l supports simple loops, which is
sometimes useful for makefiles and system management.

lx2l is quite convenient for writing makefiles for multiple platforms in
a single file, system management tasks (using loops), writing HTML files,
as FLEX preprocessor and for many other tasks. Documentation is given in
LaTeX, ASCII and HTML; it is also generated from a single source using
lx2l.

Author: Jeff Weeks.
Download: petal1ds.zip (Jul 4 1998, 477.2K)
Description:
PETAL is the Portable Extra Transparent Artistic Libary. It's a low
level graphics library which currently supports Linux and DOS video
systems. The API is primarily procedural, but makes use of certain C++
advances, and also includes C++ classes for such things like fonts.
Along with the graphics API there is a limited device input API as well.
Functions for returning the mouse's position and button status, as well
as keyboard input are provided. PETAL was designed for Linux. It takes
full advantage of Linux's shared libraries and therefore has external
drivers. What does this mean for you? It means your programs can easily
take advantage of the newest graphics hardware simply by replacing your
video drivers. No recompiling necessary. Under DOS, which doesn't
provide shared libraries, the drivers are compiled into the source code.

Server supports user applications with static web pages and dynamic web
pages created using CGI Programming. Integrated Telnet server allows
remote operation through the Internet with a common Telnet tool.
Supporting SMTP Email functions permits electronic sending of messages
for data transfer or alarm reporting. This program could be compiled
using Borland C++ or Microsoft Visual C++, which then creates an
executable file. This program is used on PCs only.
