| Description: |
Clockwork v5.50 automatically adjusts the clock drift, changes from daylight saving to standard, to local time or to Universal time, or changes time zone when traveling, all without losing the time setting. Makes it easy to set the system time accurately using any kind of audio-visual time signal, or does it by dialing the NIST atomic clock. Clockwork measures the clock drift and calculates the necessary correction. The clock drift measurement is refined over time and the average accuracy can be one second per week or better. Clock correction data is stored in a data file and a complete log of clock adjustments is kept in a history file, if desired. Calculates time between dates and converts time to Julian or Julian Decimal. |

It is not a TSR and merely requires that it be executed at least once every 10 months to properly maintain its data (assuming of course that the RTC's battery also holds up...). |

You have to understand a little bit about the PC Real Time Clock problem to examine your PC. An intensive help system helps you to understand the different issues that are fundamental to assure a good transition the next millennium. Things like BIOS RTC interrupt, direct access to RTC or use of power management through power.exe should be taken into account. The program allows you to test the RTC without changing the DOS date. |

Certain non-compliant PC's will allow the clock to be set manually beyond 1999.12.31. However, since the BIOS on these machines does not allow the RTC to work properly after 1999.12.31, this requires that the PC date is set every time the PC is turned on. The program is designed to be used by PC's that allows for manual adjustment of the date after 1999.12.31.

Y2Kare is a utility for testing PC hardware for Year-2000 compliance. It is especially useful for system administrators who have lots of computers to track. It categorizes computers according to their level of compliance, keeps a database of results and prints or saves reports for each computer tested. It can be run from a network server and save all results to a network drive but can be configured to log off the network and out of Windows before performing any date altering tests. It then goes back on the network again to save the results. It has loads of options for various configurations and its behavior can be customized by a system administrator to make it easy for his users to operate the program themselves on their own workstations. It is as easy to operate as a snooze alarm. |

| Description: |
Y2KWA v2.1 is for computers with CMOS that will not take years beyond 1999. These present an incorrect year, usualy determined by its date of manufacture, to the system at each boot-time after 1999. However, they do present the correct day and month. Y2KWA keeps a reference file of the date of the last time it ran and uses this information to do its job. If run from the autoexec.bat file it will correct the garbage year CMOS gives the system at boot-time. It also handles leap-day conflicts. That is, if the year CMOS hands the system disagrees with the actual year in "leapness", Y2KWA will prevent Feb. 29 from being inserted where it does not belong or from left out where it does belong. |
